Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

OCD involves unwanted, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and the repetitive behaviors or mental rituals (compulsions) a person feels driven to perform to ease the distress those thoughts cause. We provide a judgment-free evaluation and a treatment plan built around your specific obsessions and compulsions.

Isn't OCD just about being neat or liking things a certain way?

That's a common misconception. Clinical OCD involves genuinely distressing intrusive thoughts and compulsions that consume significant time and interfere with daily life.

What does treatment for OCD look like?

Medication, often a specific class of antidepressants at OCD-appropriate doses, can meaningfully reduce symptoms. A specialized therapy approach called exposure and response prevention is also highly effective, and we can coordinate care with a therapist who provides it.

How long before I notice improvement?

Medication for OCD often takes longer to show full effect than it does for depression alone, so we set expectations up front and monitor closely during that adjustment period.

You don't have to figure this out alone. Same-week appointments are often available.
